10-25-04It's been a long time, Test Monkey fans. How are you? How's the family? Yes, it's been a year since I wrote about getting started on the TEST MONKEY SHORT FILM. But now it's REALLY under production! I've completed the most difficult portions, so it's all smooth-sailing from here, buddy! You can keep up on its progress (and see the other short films I've made in the meanwhile - one of which will be screening at the SAN FRANCISCO UNDERGROUND SHORT FILM FESTIVAL) at SILENTBALLYHOO.COM. Will there EVER be new Test Monkey, you ask? Surely at some point, but let's focus on his stop-motion picture debut, first!

10-16-03 Okay, you sick bastards, here's the current news. I'm working on a TEST MONKEY SHORT FILM (utilizing both stop-motion cutouts and live-action) which, if all goes well, I will submit to Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation. And if it turns out good, there will be more in the future. Keep your eyes peeled, as I will most likely post it here when completed. I'll also be fixing up the front page and make it less cluttered in the near future. That's all for now, folks.

06-13-03Hey, everybody. Long time no talk (also, long time no comic). I've been busy on the Film Front, writing an ultra-violent-no-budget-dark-comedy-superhero script which will hopefully be filming in the next couple of months. I know this causes poor lil' Test Monkey to suffer, but he can take it. He's a trooper. Keep checking back, as I plan to put some comics on the site as soon as possible. I'll also be having a filmmaking diary (the address of which I'll post here when I get it started) in case any of you goofballs are interested.

03-12-03 Well, I've made the decision to enter my newest script into the Nicholl Fellowship Screenwriting Contest. This is the big one. First prize is $30,000 for you to take a year off and just write. HOW GLORIOUS SUCH A THING WOULD BE! Of course, my script is an surreal, ultra-violent, chaotic Dark Comedy (not the most popular genre in the world), but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

10-30-02 I've been trying to fix up some stuff with the site, most notably the new NAVBARS (which didn't come out as well as I'd hoped) and the addition of the CAST page. Check 'em out while I fiddle with more junk on the site to make it (slightly) better.

10-19-02 Hey, folks. Never fear, new T.M.s are on the way. I've been spending my usual comic-creating time writing a screenplay that I'm going to attempt selling (not an easy thing, I know... I've been writing them for over ten years and this is the first one I'd feel comfortable selling as it's the most commercial thing I've ever penned. It's worth a shot.) While this may be the case, I do not want it to affect the usual Test Monkey updates, but it may slow it down a bit. Another thing I've been wanting to do is start a Livejournal for updates, but for that I apparently need some kind of code (nudge nudge to my Livejournaling readers). Paying for one isn't an option as I can barely afford food. So, if there are any kind-hearted 'Journalers who like my comic I'd appreciate it. Also added Bonsai Kitten to the LINKS PAGE as I feel it's appropriate here and pretty hilarious, too. Well, off to eat.

9-23-02 Sorry for the comic delays, folks, as I have been working on my various film-type projects. However, there will be new comics (not counting the one from Sunday) on Tuesday and Thursday. More good news: I think Robin over at Protean Comics is gearing up for the fabled Test Monkey crossover (I think, from the latest one up), so you might wanna check it out (you should be reading it anyway). Also, my pal over at Grimmmm.com has finally come back after a hospital stay, so go check out his new stuff.

Those'll be in there soon hopefully... uh, if there's anyone out there who indeed would want to sport T.M. on their chest...

8-03-02 The newest new news that is new: Although I have not as of yet put a link for it (due to redesigning the main Test Monkey page, which may or may not work out), a friend of mine named GRIMMMM has started his own website with his hilarious comics "Shoji and Sal-T-Chiu" and "One Panel Short". In honor of his going to the San Diego Comicon to pass out mini-comics, I urge you to take a gander over at GRIMMMM.COM. Buckets on heads are funny.
7-23-02Howdy, TestMonkateers! It's been a while since I had some news. There's not anything, uh, REALLY REALLY new to say except I must apologize for the lack of updates where the comic is concerned. I've been a bit bogged down with a horrendous cold and work and working on storyboards for my hopefully upcoming film. That said, I'm gettin' back on track! WHEEEEEEEHA!
7-05-02 Hey, everyone. You may have noticed the the site has gotten all crazy in the last week or so, and most of that is due to domain difficulties. Rest assured that I'm trying to fix everything as fast as possible (as well as redesign the site a bit). My mail is also being annoying, so if you must mail me, try sending it to testmonkeycomics@yahoo.com. New comics on the way as well....
6-30-02 You may have noticed a slight change when it comes to the number of Test Monkey panels. It may be that you're some kind of mathmatics whiz, or it may simply be that you can add a 1 to 3, thereby coming out with the nice, round number we generally refer to as "4". That's right, my friends, from this point forward, T.M. will be a 4-panel strip.
Why? Well, the most notable reason being that I was getting frustrated with the limited amount of space 3 panels provide. I then had a epiphany: Were I to simply add one panel, a whole new world of possibilities would be open to me. But four panels would change the comic from its traditional strip-like format into more of a box-like shape... thus making it easier to enlarge, thus making the Michelangelo-esque graphics clearer to the human eye. You'll now notice the subtle details that were unavailable to you before, such as the intricacies of Test Monkey's design and the beautiful flow of the Hirschfeld-like lines...
Okay, I'm full of shit. I just wanted more room to write goofy crap.
